KIA opens the first fast charging station in Sofia

Just a few months after inviting fans of electric vehicles to recharge their electric cars for free, now KIA Motors Bulgaria offers all owners or users of electric vehicles the only one in Sofia free fast charging station.

Easily accessible and completely free, the station allows quick charge of 90% of the marketed electric vehicles. Clients can load 50% of the battery capacity for 45 minutes and up to 80 % for 1.5 hours. Thus their electric vehicle will run smoothly throughout the day.

The charging station is developed by Signet Systems, model FC20K-CC, capacity – 20kW, rotatory current, 500 V DC and 2 connectors - CHAdeMO and Combo.

The visitors of KIA’s trade and service center in Sofia (144, blvd. Tsarigradsko Shose) can also take advantage of the free charging station KEBA, suitable for charging all brands and models of electric vehicles, which have a charging cable for Type 2 contact.

In April 2015 KIA Motors Bulgaria submitted to the Bulgarian market the Soul electric car– the first Korean all-electric model car with zero emissions. Compact and economic, the 100% electric car offers impressive control, optimal mileage and iconic design.

Soul EV can be seamlessly and easily loaded into any standard 120V electrical grid or conventional 240 V AC charger. The electric vehicle travels 212 kilometers with one charge. Thanks to the instant torque, the electric motor ensures acceleration up to 100 km/h for less than 12 seconds and a maximum speed of 145 km/h.

The pilot project of Yellow! with KIA Soul, which currently operates as the first regular electric cab in Sofia was launched in August last year. Yellow! plans an increase of its electric car fleet.

By 2020 KIA will offer 11 completely new ‘green’ cars (currently the brand offers 4). The expanded green line will offer users upgraded engines, hybrids and plug-in hybrids and 100% electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles.
