The job of a taxi driver is very responsible. It is mandatory to possess the necessary documents to perform this profession. Drivers must communicate well with customers and be able to work in stressful situations.

To be effective, a taxi driver should complete as many orders as possible, and having good knowledge of the capital is a plus. Fluency in foreign languages is becoming increasingly necessary for providing excellent customer service.

Psychological Certificate

A Psychological Certificate is issued following a psychological examination. This examination includes assessments using specific psychological methods to measure the cognitive, psychomotor, and personality traits of the individuals being evaluated by the Central Expert Psychological Commission.

On the day of the examination, the individuals must present an identity document, a driver's license, and proof of payment for the examination fee.

The data and results of the psychological assessments are recorded on magnetic and/or paper media. If the examination is passed successfully, the certificate is issued within 2-3 days.

Taxi Driver’s License

To obtain a taxi driver’s license, an application for the exam must be submitted to the State Automobile Inspectorate (DAI), accompanied by:

  • A copy of the driver’s license;
  • An original criminal record certificate;
  • A report on any penalties imposed in the last year from the relevant "Road Police" unit of the Ministry of Interior;
  • Proof of payment for the taxi driver’s exam fee;
  • A Psychological Certificate.

The candidate’s identity is verified before the exam.

The taxi driver competence exam consists of two parts. The first part is a 20-question test, with a 20-minute time limit. A passing grade is given if there are no more than two incorrect answers. Upon passing the first part, the candidate proceeds to the second part of the exam.

The second part requires written answers to three questions:

  1. The candidate must write the addresses of three pre-determined national institutions (ministries, agencies, etc.).
  2. The candidate must write the addresses of three pre-determined tourist attractions, hotels, museums, theaters, cinemas, opera houses, educational institutions, stadiums, and other notable sites in the municipality where they will be operating.
  3. The candidate must outline the shortest route between two significant locations in the municipality, with the starting and ending points provided in the test.

If the exam is passed successfully, the license is issued within 1-2 weeks.
